Norton Youth Baseball and Softball is pleased to offer the following age divisions for our 2026 Spring Recreation Baseball Season:

Please know that we will be determining the divisions based on a combination of age and player evaluation to ensure players are placed at the appropriately skill leveled division. See below for some additional details:

Some ages will have multiple divisions available to register for. If you wish to have your child play up or down, you should make it a priority to be at evaluations. Kids will be placed in appropriate divisions based on the number of kids registered in the divisions, evaluations and prior coaches input.

All games will be played in Norton except for the Juniors Level

NYBS will also continue to provide Athletes with Disabilities the opportunity to participate in the Little Wiffles program for ages 5 - 18.

NYBS is pleased to offer a 5-week (1-week longer than last year!) Winter Clinic to prepare for the upcoming spring season. After last year's success, we have decided to make the offering for 6-year-olds a regular part of our program. Our Winter Clinics program is a great way to shake the dust off and get ready for the spring season. The clinics will be focused on throwing/catching, hitting, and fielding, with some pitching and catching work as outlined below. New for this year, Coach KJ Williams and the NHS Varsity Baseball team have agreed to run the clinics for our A and AA players. We are also excited to bring back Nate Horsman for a fourth year, this year exclusively to work with our AAA and Majors players. Nate Horsman is the owner of the Nathan Horsman Baseball Academy, Home of the Aces, out of Middleboro. More information about Nate’s coaching philosophy is included below. The clinic will consist of 5 sessions tailored for each group to provide an age-appropriate skills development experience in preparation for the upcoming season!

The clinic will be held on Saturdays at Norton High School (times below) from February 28th - March 28th. Register for the division that you think your child will play in for the spring recreation season. Please note that spring recreational division placements are determined by evaluations.

Ever since I stopped playing baseball, all I could think about was coaching or helping athletes! I have been so lucky over the course of my life to have great coaches, from my Dad, to my little league coach, to high school and college, that formed the way I like to teach and develop kids! The one thing I have learned all of these years, is that every kiddo is different. Every kid obtains and retains information differently. It’s our job to figure that out and apply it to that athlete. It’s really one of my favorite parts of coaching - establishing a bond with that athlete. Kids are smart; they won’t fully buy into a coach until they know the coach is invested. I truly try to invest in each kid I coach! I want them to believe in themselves. I let them know in every lesson, I believe in them. This process can take one interaction, and some kiddos need a little bit longer, until they believe in their mind they can do it, then the best version of themselves will rise to the surface. 

Please note: Norton Youth Baseball Softball spring evaluations for all players will be Sunday, March 15th at Wheaton College Haas Athletic Complex, times to be shared later.

NYBS is excited to offer our Spring Training program for players in the 6u and older age divisions. Our Spring Training program is a great way to shake the dust off and get ready for the spring season. This year it will be run by Erin Stacevicz. Erin is a Cedar Grove, New Jersey native and attended UMass Amherst from 2015-2019. Erin remains #1 in hits at both high schools she attended prior to UMass (Cedar Grove & Lodi Immaculate Conception High School) and ranks #2 all time in hits at UMass. Additionally, Erin remains 8th all time in batting average, 6th all time in runs scored, and 15th all time in total bases at Division I UMass Amherst. Erin was a key part of the 2019 UMass team that went undefeated during the regular season and elected to All-Conference teams in every year of her college career. Following her career at UMass, Erin coached softball at Fairleigh Dickinson University - Florham for a year while attaining her graduate degree. Erin specializes in slap hitting, hitting and outfield. She currently gives hitting/slapping lessons in Middleboro but has been teaching lessons for about 5 years.

NYBS is pleased to offer a 6 week catching clinic to our players in the 8u division and older for the upcoming spring season. The catching clinic this season will be lead by Andy Friess. Andy is the owner of Diamond Sports Academy (founded in 2022) in North Attleboro and founder of the Diamonds Softball Club organization. His extensive playing and coaching background includes earning honors at the conference, regional and national levels in both high school and in college, where Andy was a full-scholarship, four-year starter at catcher for NAIA baseball powerhouse, Saint Xavier University (Chicago). Following a one-year stint playing professional baseball after college, Andy has focused on coaching softball and baseball for nearly 20 years, instructing players at the recreation, club, high school and collegiate levels.

NYBS is pleased to offer a 6 week pitching clinic this winter at the L.G. Nourse Elementary School. The sessions will be one hour and be broken down based on the pitcher's age/skill level. The clinic will be offered to all players entering the 8U division or older for the upcoming Spring season. Players need to bring someone to catch for them, either a catcher from the league or a parent/family member. The dates of the pitching clinic are: 

 

The pitching clinic will be led by Lisa Lasser.  Lisa is a former Norton High School athlete, where she won the National Sportsmanship Award for both softball and volleyball. While pitching for Norton High School she also played for the Bay State Blaze Jr. Olympic Team. Lisa went on to play at Wheaton College for 3 years where she pitched in the College World Series and was named to the Regional All American Team. Lisa's bio is most impressive and our young players have a lot to learn from her!
