Softball Fall Ball 2023
Norton Youth Baseball Softball is pleased to announce SOFTBALL registration for Fall Ball 2023! Fall softball is open to all age divisions 6u, 8u, 10u, 12u, and 14u!
6u and 8u Instructional Clinic
We are looking for a coach for the 8u instructional clinic! If you are a parent of a 8u player and are interested in running the clinic, please let us know! These clinics focus on basic skills. The clinic will run once a week, for one hour, for 6 weeks. This is great for first year players or those looking to keep up on their skills.
10u, 12u, and 14u
Norton Softball will have the opportunity to participate in the 2023 Bristol Plymouth Fall Ball League. The Fall Ball Schedule will be September 9-10, 16-17, & 23-24, 30, October 1, 15-16, 21-22, & 28-29. There will be no games scheduled for Labor Day or Columbus Day Weekend. Games will be doubleheaders, 80 minutes no new inning, and 90 minutes finish the batter. There will be no standings kept, games canceled for rain will not be made up, and there will be no playoffs.
Teams will play on EITHER Saturday OR Sunday and not both. On the registration form you can select what weekend day your team would prefer to play on but this does not mean all your games will be on the same day of the weekend. We will make every effort to schedule as many games as possible on the day selected but teams will be required to play on either Saturday or Sunday. Games will be played home and away.
The focus of the league is to provide additional softball games for players potentially moving up a division in 2024 and of course, players who just want more softball before winter arrives. The fall season is a great learning environment for players of all abilities. The season will help foster positive self esteem, self-confidence, individual growth through personal achievement, and the value of teamwork.
A player’s age as of September 1 determines the age in which the player is eligible to play the following year.
10-Under Age Classification...A player whose 11th birthday is prior to September 1, 2023, is INELIGIBLE.
12-Under Age Classification...A player whose 13th birthday is prior to September 1, 2023, is INELIGIBLE.
14-Under Age Classification...A player whose 15th birthday is prior to September 1, 2023, is INELIGIBLE.
Practices will be no more than once per week. The practice day and time will be determined by the coach.
The cost for each age division (includes a uniform shirt):
6u:$75
8u: $75
10u: $125
12u: $125
14u: $125
*** The ability for Norton to register a team in each age group is based on registration numbers and volunteers to coach. If numbers are low, NYBS will try to combine ages and /or may not be able to register a team for certain age groups and will notify you of this when registration closes. We also need volunteers to sign up to coach. If we do not have coaches, we cannot form teams***
