NYBS 2022 Spring Registration
We apologize for the lengthy email, but there is important information for both Baseball and Softball that is relevant to registering for the upcoming season
Baseball Spring Season:
Baseball is pleased to offer the following age divisions for our 2022 Spring Recreation Season:
- Junior Division: (DOB: 12/31/2007 - 8/31/2009)
- Majors Intermediate (DOB: 12/31/2008 - 8/31/2011)
- AAA (DOB: 12/31/2010 - 8/31/2013)
- AA (DOB: 12/31/2012 - 8/31/2015)
- A (DOB: 12/31/2014 - 8/31/2016)
- Rookie (DOB: DOB 9/1/2016 - 8/31/2017)
- Wiffle Tee (DOB 9/1/2017 - 8/31/2018)
Please know that we will be determining the divisions based on a combination of age and player evaluation to ensure players are placed at the appropriately skill leveled division. See below for some additional details:
- All 14-year-old players will be automatically at Juniors
- All 12-year-old players will be automatically at Majors-Intermediate
- All 10-year-old players will be automatically at AAA
- All 8-year-old players will be automatically at AA
- If you'd like your 7-year-old to be considered to play at the AA level they are required to attend Player Evaluations
If your child is 13, 11, 9 or 7 you will have two divisions you’re eligible to register for. Please register your child for the division you’d like them to play at. Player evaluations and numbers will determine which of the two divisions your child is placed at.
Softball Spring Season:
Softball is pleased to offer the following age divisions:
- Senior Division - 12/14 (Jan 2007 - Dec 2010)
- 10U (Jan 2011 - Dec 2012)
- 8U (Jan 2013 - Dec 2014)
- 6U (Jan 2015 - Dec 2016)
For all divisions, except for 6U, games will be played against Mansfield and Attleboro. Games will be held during the week, with the occasional Saturday Norton vs. Norton game.
- Senior Division 12/14’s- Monday and Wednesday, with one practice a week
- 10U - Tuesday and Thursday, with one practice a week
- 8U - Monday and Wednesday, with one practice a week
Team practices will begin the week of April 4th, and games will begin the week of April 25th.
The 6U instructional league will focus on basic skills. This is great for first year players!
- 6U - 1 weekday practice and 1 weekend game
- 6U will begin the week of April 25th, with the first game on Sunday, May 1st.
NYBS Payment Plans:
Back by popular demand, NYBS has continued with the payment plan! The registration cost can be spread over 4 payments.
NYBS Player Evaluations:
Player Evaluations will take place on Sunday, March 6th at the Haas Center at Wheaton College between 3 - 8 pm. Specific times for age groups have not yet been determined.
Softball Spring Training:
At this time, you can also register your softball player for Spring Training! Spring Training will run for four weeks throughout March at Norton Middle School:
Little Wiffles Program:
NYBS will continue to provide Athletes with Disabilities the opportunity to participate in the Little Wiffles program for ages 4 - 18.
