The NYBS Board is pleased to announce that we are officially affiliated with Little League. This was a process that took some time and deliberation as the NYBS board wanted to ensure we're making the proper decision moving forward.

While many things will stay the same there are a few important things that will change:

-    Regular Season Age Determination:

• There is a slight change to how Little League determines league age. Please see the attached link to review the 2020 age chart. I have also included a link to the Little League website where you can enter your son or daughters birth date to check. https://www.littleleague.org/play-little-league/determine-league-age/

-    Majors Division:

• The Majors Division will now be called the Majors-Intermediate Division and will now allow eligible 13 year olds to play. Please use the age chart above to determine whether or not your 13 year old is eligible.
• This will continue to be played on a 50/70 field

-    Little League World Series Tournament

• NYBS will now have the ability to enter the Little League World Series Tournament. The NYBS Board will determine whether or not we will enter a team

Things that will NOT Change:

-   Softball

• Absolutely nothing will change on the Softball side. The move to Little League is entirely for baseball.

-   Hockomock Summer All Stars

• The Hock Summer League uses a different age determinate than Little League
• The ages of players are determined the same way as we've done previously so how the team ages are determined will not change at all from the past

-   Baseball Pitch Counts

• Little League uses the same Pitch Count rules as Cal Ripken

-   Baseball Divisions

• Other than allowing certain 13 year old players to play at the Majors level, all the other baseball divisions will remain the same.
• This applies to both the naming structure and the vast majority of the rules

Overall, the NYBS is excited for the move and look forward to the many advantages Little League provides to our organization, players and families that participate in town Baseball and Softball.

We are also excited as Registration will open for the Winter Clinics as well as the Spring 2020 Recreation Seasons for both Baseball and Softball on Friday, November 29th! On Friday you can visit the league website to register
